Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 1 pound skinless salmon fillet, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
Garnish (optional)
- Sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
Instructions
- Prepare Salmon: Pat the salmon pieces dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, then toss them gently in a bowl with cornstarch until they are lightly and evenly coated. This helps create a nice crust when cooking.
- Make Teriyaki Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the low-sodium soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated fresh ginger until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is well combined.
- Cook Salmon: Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon bites in a single layer and cook without disturbing for 2–3 minutes until the underside is golden brown. Flip the salmon pieces carefully and cook the other side for another 2–3 minutes until the salmon is nearly cooked through.
- Glaze Salmon: Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce into the skillet with the salmon. Toss gently to coat each piece evenly in the sauce. Continue to cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and glaze the salmon beautifully.
- Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish the salmon bites with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired. Serve immediately, ideally over steamed rice, noodles, or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
Notes
- These salmon bites are great served over rice, noodles, or stir-fried veggies for a balanced meal.
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the teriyaki sauce while whisking.
