Ingredients
Scale
Sausage and Cheese
- 8 sausage links
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
Dough
- 1 (8-oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls
Egg Mixture
- 6 large eggs
- ¾ cup milk
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Topping
- 1 tsp Everything Bagel Seasoning
- Fresh parsley or chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with a nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Cook Sausage Links: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the breakfast sausage links until they are golden brown. They do not need to be fully cooked at this stage as they will finish cooking in the oven.
- Assemble Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent rolls and separate the dough into 8 triangles. On the wide end of each triangle, place half a slice of cheddar cheese, then one sausage link, and top the sausage with the remaining half of the cheese slice. Roll each crescent up starting from the wide end and arrange all the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
- Prepare Egg Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Pour Egg Mixture and Season: Pour the egg mixture evenly around the crescent rolls in the dish. Sprinkle the tops of the rolls with Everything Bagel Seasoning for an added burst of flavor.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the eggs are set and the crescent rolls are golden brown on top.
- Garnish and Serve: Once baked, garnish the casserole with freshly chopped parsley or green onions before serving to add a fresh color and additional flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute sausage links with breakfast sausage patties if preferred; just adjust the cooking method accordingly.
- Add your favorite vegetables like diced bell peppers or onions inside the crescent rolls for extra flavor and nutrition.
- If you want a spicier casserole, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or using spicy sausage.
- For dairy-free options, swap cheddar cheese, milk, and cream with suitable plant-based alternatives.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
