Description

This Monster Munch Halloween Mix is a fun and festive sweet snack perfect for Halloween parties or movie nights. It combines crunchy popcorn with a mix of candy corn, roasted peanuts, Reese’s Pieces, all bound together by a creamy vanilla almond bark coating. Ready in just 15 minutes, this easy no-bake treat offers a delightful combination of textures and flavors that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Popcorn Mix

  • 2 bags microwave popcorn (popped, approximately 16-20 cups)
  • 1½ cups dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup Reese’s Pieces

Coating

  • 1 (16-oz) package vanilla Almond Bark or white candy coating

Instructions

  1. Pop the Popcorn: Pop the microwave popcorn according to package instructions and place it in the largest bowl you have to ensure plenty of room for mixing.
  2. Add Mix-ins: Pour the dry roasted peanuts, candy corn, and Reese’s Pieces over the popcorn in the bowl.
  3. Melt the Almond Bark: Break the almond bark into smaller pieces and melt it following the package directions, usually in the microwave or over a double boiler, until smooth and creamy.
  4. Coat the Mixture: Pour the melted almond bark over the popcorn mixture. Stir gently and thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly coated with the vanilla candy coating.
  5. Set the Mix: Spread the coated mixture evenly onto waxed paper, parchment paper, or foil. Allow it to sit undisturbed until the coating is completely dry and set, typically about 10 minutes.
  6. Break and Serve: Once the coating has hardened, break the mixture into clusters or clumps for serving.

Notes

  • Use a large bowl for mixing to avoid spillage.
  • Ensure the almond bark is fully melted and smooth before pouring for even coating.
  • Spread mixture thinly for faster setting.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.
  • Can substitute Reese’s Pieces with M&Ms or other favorite candies.
