Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Base
- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing dough)
Cheeses
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Toppings
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon (crumbled) or cooked sausage (crumbled)
- 1/4 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh spinach (optional)
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)
- 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (optional, like parsley or basil)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it inside the oven while it heats to get it nice and hot for a crisp crust.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your preferred size and shape to fit your baking sheet or stone.
- Brush the Dough: Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet or the preheated pizza stone. Brush the surface with olive oil to help the crust crisp and develop a lovely golden color when baked.
- Make the Scrambled Eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until fully combined. Then, cook the mixture in a non-stick skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly until the eggs are scrambled and just cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Layer the Pizza: Spread a thin layer of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the prepared dough. Next, add the scrambled eggs over the mozzarella. Sprinkle the crumbled cooked bacon or sausage, diced bell peppers, fresh spinach, and green onions on top for flavor and texture.
- Add Toppings and Cheese: Evenly distribute shredded cheddar cheese over the toppings and, if you like a little heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top.
- Bake the Pizza: Place your pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle fresh herbs like parsley or basil on top for a burst of fresh flavor. Slice the pizza, serve hot, and enjoy your delicious breakfast pizza!
Notes
- You can substitute bacon with cooked sausage or make it vegetarian by skipping the meat altogether.
- Feel free to customize toppings with mushrooms, tomatoes, or any preferred vegetables.
- For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone preheated in the oven.
- Leftover pizza can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in an oven or skillet to preserve crispness.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to your heat preference or omit entirely.
